TANNER BASSETT COLORIST

Inspired by his love for color photography and imaging at a prestigious LA art college, Tanner Bassett’s artistic ways have been transferred into hair color. Printing and developing pictures and film has helped Bassett immensely when coloring hair, as his knowledge of the color wheel and the way each shade blends with one another is endless.

He started experimenting using color with friends in high school, getting his start when he attended the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology: A Paul Mitchel Partner School, where he learned the basics and technique. He trained under some of NYC’s best colorists, including Nikki Ferrara of Marie Robinson Salon and Marko Tomasetti of Sally Hershberger Downtown. This gave him the opportunity to make his own unique vision and style of hair color. Bassett specialties are in cooler tones of blondes and double process.

His inspiration and experience with art, photography, painting, fashion, architecture or music, truly sets Bassett apart, allowing him to look at color as more of an artistic skill and to grasp the concept of physical features that come hand in hand with hair color.

Tanner's resume includes various editorial shoots for top magazines such as Glamour, Allure,  Marie Claire, Nylon, as well as working with Nikki Ferrara for the television show, “Unforgettable.”

Upon closing her salon in 2001 Mary worked at the Wonderland Salon in the Meatpacking district and at the Privé Salon in New York.
